The Barakah Beauty Collective crew is excited for our next Barakah Healing Circle series on Sunday February 19th to kick off our week of BBC's 1 year anniversary celebrations!! 

This Months Theme: Somatic Healing 1 

Pre-registration is required, with only space for 10 participants (adults only) per session. Same material covered in each session.

    Welcome to our Barakah Healing Circle! 
    Yoga and Peace :) 

    We are excited to announce Sarah, a guest therapist coming all the way from Chicago to offer a Trauma Informed Yoga session this month! In this session we will be using the somatic body-centered approach to release stress, tension and trauma. This class will be focused on an hour of guided yoga and 30 minutes of resting with breath-work, sound therapy, and ear acupuncture. Use of these mind-body techniques serves ones overall wellness; emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. We hope you can join us! 

    Being at Barakah Beauty Collective over this last year has been wonderful to see and serve the women in our community. We have created a safe space where almost every day someone says,  "the energy here is so amazing!", "what a healing space." We witness abundant laughter, spiritual breakthroughs, so many tears, and personal stories. We realized we are all dealing with similar life issues, and there is such a need for more healing services, dedicated time for self-care, and social support. This is why we are offering this series, Barakah Healing Circle! Every month we will have a different theme, with wonderful therapeutic offerings from various hosts in our community inshAllah.

    Our focus in this series will be:
    - Guided trauma informed Yoga session (please bring yoga mat/we have a few, blocks, water bottle, small towel, extra layer or blanket)
    - Directed breath-work 
    - Sound therapy with tuning forks and tuning bowls
    - Ear acupuncture for stress relief, wonderful simple treatment for addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma/ptsd, and pain.

    Drinks and light refreshments will be served. Feel free to bring something to share but it's not a requirement.

    This months series is hosted by Mahdiyah Asiya MS, ARNP, CNM, LAc, LMT and Sarah Said MA, two Muslim women in the community who have been focusing on health and self-care for over a decade. 

    Mahdiyah Asiya is a Nurse Practitioner Midwife, Chinese Medicine Practitioner (acupuncturist and herbalist), and Massage therapist. She has been into health and wellness since a youth, and is passionate about integrative medicine, bridging Eastern and Western knowledge. Mahdiyah Asiya is one of the founding members of Barakah Beauty Collective, and has her private practice there since March 2022. Learn more here: https://mahdiyah-asiya.square.site 

    Sarah Said is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor. She embarked on more intense yoga practice during the pandemic when as a K-12 educator life was drastically changing. As the education system continued to "pivot" Sarah took on the challenge of completing her yoga certification with the Breathe for Change yoga school. Sarah considers herself a trauma informed yoga teacher. She loves to incorporate sound bowls and tuning forks into her practice as she hopes to study sound healing in the near future. In addition to her yoga certification, Sarah holds a BA in English and Education, a Master's in Literacy Education and a second Master's in school leadership. Sarah is a wife, a mom of three and also a writer.

      Please come at least 10 minutes before the booking time to allow for check-in. We will have breaks between the sessions for time to pray. 

      *If you have any Covid symptoms, please do not come. Masks are highly recommended while in store but not required.
