This one-of-one garment debuted on the Threads of Renewal 2026 runway. The listed price is the opening bid. Bidding closes Monday, September 21 at 8 pm Pacific. The piece will be sold to the highest bidder when the auction closes. The opening bid reflects the garment's retail price. Of any amount raised above retail, 70% will benefit Barakah Beauty Collective and 30% will go to the artist. The highest bidder at closing wins the piece.

Forget the 1950s poodle—this is a "chicken" skirt. Designed for the Threads of Renewal runway, this piece riffs on mid-century Americana through traditional Chikankari, a delicate white eyelet textile scattered with real glass mirrors. Cut in an unrestrictive, full silhouette and secured with an adjustable Korean hanbok-inspired wrap-and-tie waist, it features an embroidered red heart tethered to a dotted leash that trails up to the waistband. It is cheeky, nostalgic, and entirely one-of-a-kind.

Textiles & Craft: Handmade by me in Seattle from textiles recycled through the BBC Community Closet. Because everything is rescued and repurposed, this collection is deeply sustainable, but I cannot guarantee exact fabric composition. These fabrics are most likely a cotton-poly blend, which is extremely common for Indian textiles, leaning heavier toward cotton or poly depending on the section.

Care: Hand wash or run on a delicate cycle using mild, scent-free detergent. Hang dry to protect the metallic threads and mirrorwork.
