Collection: FBOX Designs: Americana Out-of-the-Box
FBOX designs by Fatema Boxwala
Americana Out-of-the-Box is an exploration of identity, diaspora, and ease, debuted on the runway for Threads of Renewal. Rooted in the belief that clothing should move with the body rather than constrict it, this capsule redefines classic Americana silhouettes through the rich visual language of South Asian textiles.
Every garment in the collection is handmade in Seattle, reconstructed entirely from traditional saris, anarkalis, and embellishments rescued through the Barakah Beauty Collective Community Closet. By transforming ornate ceremonial brocades and embroidered motifs into functional streetwear, oversized cuts, and reversible staples, Americana Out-of-the-Box questions who gets to define everyday wear. It is a celebration of circular fashion that refuses to trade cultural depth for practicality, offering adaptable, unrestrictive pieces made to be lived in, loved, and kept in your wardrobe for a lifetime.
